Wicks
Unlimited Candle Wicks
At the request of customers looking for additional options in
zinc and cotton cored wicks, Wicks Unlimited partnered with an affiliated
company to create our own WU line of wicks.
Our Wicks Unlimited wicks have been designed
for flawless burn and easy identifiability using fine, colored threads
manufactured inside the wick itself (Patent Pending). Exceptional
capillary action provides superior burn, excellent in jars and pillars.
The WU Zinc wick is a technologically advanced metal core candle
wick consisting of a cotton braided jacket surrounding a zinc core.
The jacket is made with long strand cotton threads for more efficient
capillary action as well as a tight precise braid for more consistent
metering of the liquid wax in the changing temperatures and viscosities
that are found in container candles.
The zinc wire is a “Special High Grade”
metal that has .0016% of PB (lead) by weight which falls well under
the .06% guideline set by the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
The zinc is tested and certified to conform to the “16 CFR
1500.7 (a)(13)” standard of the CPSC and actually has 37 times
less lead content than the acceptable limit specifies.
The WU Cotton wick is a cored candle wick, braided with long strand
washed cotton. It exhibits a slightly curled flame profile in combustion
thereby minimizing carbon buildup, while still creating a burn pool
concentric with the circumference of the candle.
The tight braiding of this wick helps to achieve
a precise and consistent metering of the liquid wax regardless of
the changing temperatures and viscosities commonly found in container
candles. The WU Cotton series can be used in almost all candle applications
and formulations where a concentric burn pool is desired.
